355th Mission Support Group opens a Center of Resilience at Davis-Monthan
DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. – The 355th Mission Support Group opened its Center of Resilience at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, Oct. 13. 2026, expanding access to resources designed to strengthen Airmen’s physical, mental and spiritual readiness.
The new center provides Airmen with more convenient access to integrated health and human performance professionals, supporting the 355th Wing’s commitment to enhancing resilience and operational readiness.
The grand opening featured a morning workout followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking another step toward improving access to integrated health and human performance across the installation.
“The big push was that we don’t have haves and have-nots," said Allison Griffin, 355th Mission Support Group integrated operational support team specialist. “We didn’t want certain Airmen to have access to certain assets and others not.”
The center is part of a broader initiative to expand resilience resources across the installation, with an additional hub expected to open within the 355th Medical Group.
“Airmen can access mind, body and spiritual resiliency resources without having to schedule an appointment at the Medical Group,” said U.S. Air Force Maj. Richard Barnard, 355th Mission Support Group chief of True North Plus “It’s essentially going to streamline and make it to where they can get the access to the resources they need really quickly.”
Through True North Plus, health and performance professionals are embedded within squadrons and groups to provide more accessible support for Airmen. As part of these efforts, Zach Roth, 355th MSG strength and conditioning coach, recently completed and helped host the center’s first Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator course.
During the opening ceremony, Griffin recognized the collaborative effort across the wing that supported the center’s development.
“It’s been a lot of coordinated efforts that are not in my name,” Griffin said.
By bringing the resilience resources directly to Airmen, the center aims to reduce barriers to care while strengthening the health, performance and readiness of the Wing.
